Symposium Theme and Topics

The theme of the 19th National Symposium on Digital Design in Architecture, to be held at Antalya Bilim University, has been designated as ‘Symbiosis.’ Architecture is undergoing a profound transformation with the rapid integration of digital technologies. Tools like artificial intelligence, computational design, building information modeling (BIM), and mixed reality have become indispensable elements of daily architectural practice. This transformation has fostered a symbiotic relationship between the architect and technology, creating an environment where technology supports the architect’s creativity while also forming new working dynamics. Technology offers advantages such as providing quick solutions to complex design problems, accelerating processes, and enabling interdisciplinary collaboration. At this point, architects no longer see technology as merely a tool, but as a partner guiding the design process. Our symposium aims to deeply explore this complex relationship, discussing both the positive interactions and potential risks of the interplay between architects and digital technologies.
